Halloween Crafts -- Junk Style

It's that Halloween season and you still have a little bit of time to get some crafting done. I have to say that when I started checking around with some friends for Halloween craft articles to share on this blog, I discovered that I love love love Facebook friend Cyndee Kromminga's Restyled Junk blog site! If you are looking for simple and adorable Halloween craft ideas, you'll find it there! I am so inspired that I think I'm going to do some crafting this week (if I can find the time!). Check out all the cute stuff she has -- I am in love with the Raggedy Candy Corn and the Pumpkin Painted Fence. I think I'm going to try to make the pumpkin fence as a great project for the kids and I to do this week.

Easy Crochet Patterns for Halloween

Now that the weather has started to chill out and leaves are swirling, I have once again taken up the crochet hook and started creating. I've been making a few crocheted hats and a few little doll items. I'm thinking ahead to Christmas...even though right now we're still in Halloween season. Looking for some crocheted Halloween ideas?

Work up some of these easy-to-make crochet projects for Halloween. My friend Kay Whittenhauer has some great ideas for crocheted spooktacular fun. Check out "Easy Crochet Pattern for Fall Placemats and a Table Runner" for her ideas. I wish I had time to make them before Halloween but I don't, so maybe I'll make them for next year!

Captain America crafts

Do your kids love superheroes? Whether they are Marvel or DC Comics, my kids do. They have their favorites and not-so-favorites (my kiddos are not crazy about Superman at all) but as a whole, they love those mutant, alien, gadget-slinging superheroes.

This summer is seeing plenty of superhero action with movies galore. My kids and I have already seen "Thor" and "X-Men First Class" and loved both of them.

I found a couple of articles from writer Barbara Henderson for some cool Captain America crafts--a Captain America shield and a Captain America paper bag puppet. I thought these were awesome sauce! So easy and how great would it be to make today on Flag Day or any day. It's Captain America! Go check them out -- How to Make a Captain America Puppet and How to Make a Captain America Shield.

Great ideas and so easy! Wonder what she's got for the Green Lantern?

Butterfly crafts...it's what's for summer!

Oh yes it's heating up! When I think summer I think "butterflies!" Those winged creatures are my favorite part of the hot weather season.

If you want to bring a few of these beauties inside on a hot day with some butterfly crafts, here are a few ideas.

How about making a butterfly bookmark for yourself or a friend...just like the picture at right?

An easy craft that is a favorite because it feeds butterflies and draws them into my garden is a butterfly fruit feeder--made out of a clay flower pot and tray.

These easy butterfly crafts are fun to make for kids--and they're perfect for a summer day. These ideas use a variety of simple materials like toilet paper tubes and clothespins.
